Aaaaand I’m back after a very long hiatus. So many wonderful things have happened in the last several months that it has been difficult to keep up with my photography blog- but definitely not the photography! So now I find myself with a backlog of wonderful photos to share.
As many of you know, my “day job” is at the American Geophysical Union, where I manage student programs for Earth and space scientists. As a member of the Social Events team, we’re tasked with bringing staff together in an enjoyable atmosphere where we can get to know one another and build relationships. When the time came to choose a kickoff event, the decision was unanimous: a day tript to the Tidal Basin to see the cherry blossoms would be perfect. But, an activity was needed and that’s where I came in: “How about a photography tour of the Tidal Basin?” The details were tricky- hiring enough photography teachers for the various levels of camera ability levels and then pushing back the date a week when the blossoms didn’t blossom, but on Wednesday, 3 April 2013, we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather and the beginning of buds!
